Light colours in daytime LED products

    Choices in color temperature

When deciding for LED-lights made by daytime you have the choice between various light colours to create different moods in the aquarium, as desired. Our article "colour temperature as design element" is a good read in this respect.

In the three model series of daytime, the light colors can be designed differently for the different types. With the LED strips used for the eco series, you can choose a custom color for each individual strip in a custom design. For prefabricated lights, two strips in the same light color are common. In a custom order, an additional, third LED strip can be installed. Here you have the opportunity to combine three different light colors in a lamp body.

With the cluster and matrix series, daytime relies on individual LED modules, which are mounted on a heat sink. How many modules fit on a rail, depends on the total length of the lamp. You can pick a colour for each individual light module.

Various white light tones are available. Apart from that, LEDs in the light coloration "Ultra Blue Red White" have not just white but also red and blue diodes. Using a suitable controller you can regulate all those light colours individually with the matrix and cluster models (in the control-variant). This allows daylight simulations with effects such as dawn and blue moonlight.

Overview of the different light colors for a freshwater aquarium:

    Warm White

    • warm white, sunny hue
    • for healthy plant growth
    • slight accentuation of reddish aquatic plants and fish
    • Color temperature in the eco and cluster series: 2.700 K
    • Color temperature in the matrix series: 4.700 K

    Neutral White

    • neutral, warmer white
    • for a healthy plant growth
    • recommended for freshwater tanks
    • Colour temperature in eco and cluster models: 5.000 K
    • Colour temperature in the matrix series: 6.000 K

    Ultra White

    • cooler white tone
    • for healthier plant growth
    • recommended for fresh- and marine water tanks
    • Colour temperature in eco and cluster models: 7.000 K
    • Colour temperature in the matrix series: 8.000 K

    Ultra Blue Red White

    • White-blue light with red components
    • intensifies the colours
    • recommended for fresh- and marine water tanks
    • particularly suitable for African Cichlid tanks (Malawi and Tanganjika)
    • Colour temperature in eco and cluster models: 10.000 K
    • Colour temperature in the matrix series: 440-455 nm + 620-630 nm + 8.000 K
