Mulchbed Biotope Roots from the WIOdecor BiotopeBeds series by manufacturer WIO is a carefully selected mix of bark, roots, branches, small pieces of wood, mimicking the wood-based organic matter which naturally occurs in natural habitats.
The selected materials possess the unique feature that once waterlogged, they will remain at the bottom of the aquarium and will not decompose for years. Mulchbed can be used in aquariums, paludariums and terrariums, creating an ideal and realistic biotope impression. It presents great benefits for fauna by providing natural acids, organic nutrients and hiding places. Moreover, Mulchbed brings new possibilities to the biotope creator, aquascaper, rainforest artist or vivarium enthusiast as it will add additional detail, complexity and wabi-sabi effect to your designs. Mulchbed can be mixed with Woodbed Biotope Roots for further complexity and realism.

Application

Rinse complete content of the bag under running water
Fill the bag or a bucket with warm water and set for 24h
Then, rinse carefully to clear any remaing dust
The woods pieces will be waterlogged and ready to be easily spread in the aquarium bottom or as forest floor in emersed displays

Product safety

Warning notes:

This product is intended solely for use in aquariums, paludariums, and terrariums. Do not use for any other purpose.
Improper or negligent use may result in property damage, injury to persons or animals, or harm to aquatic or terrestrial ecosystems.
Wood pieces may have sharp edges or splinters. Handle with care.
Do not ingest. Keep away from mouth and eyes. In case of accidental ingestion or contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Keep out of reach of children. Adult supervision is required when children are handling or near the product.

General notes:

This product is composed of sustainably harvested natural wood pieces. Variations in colour, shape, size, and texture are inherent.
Wood releases tannins and other compounds that may alter pH and other water parameters. Regular monitoring of water parameters is essential.
Aquariums with low hardness (gH and kH) are more sensitive to pH fluctuations. Buffering substrates or treated water may be required.
Biofilm development is normal and beneficial.
Improper curing may lead to fungal or bacterial growth.

Handling notes:

Do not throw or misuse this product. Never throw it towards people, animals, or fragile objects.

Wash hands thoroughly after handling.

Store in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity.

Dispose of packaging and used wood responsibly in accordance with local regulations. Do not release wood or rinse water into natural watercourses or the environment outside the intended use.
