Description

The hybrid cultivar Echinodorus 'Chrileni' was bred at the aquarium plant nursery Aquafleur (Netherlands). This very easy to keep swordplant develops pink-red underwater leaves with scattered brown spots. It forms a compact, about 30 cm high leaf rosette, therefore it is an ideal specimen plant for the midground, in smaller tanks also for the background.
As most Echinodorus, this cultivar is mostly delivered in its terrestrial (emersed) form, with rather green, longer stalked leaves. Planted into the aquarium, it will develop its colourful submerged foliage.

Although it has only little demands, Echinodorus 'Chrileni' grows best with macro- and micronutrient supply via the substrate. Good lighting enhances beautiful coloration. The water parameters are of minor importance, however CO₂ supply is very beneficial for its growth.
