Description
With the TDS/EC measurement device of ARKAs myAqua product line three significant water values can be determined. With the flick of a switch the totally dissolved solids (TDS), the temperature and the electrical conductivity (EC) becomes certain with this 3in1 device.
The measurement range of the EC extends from 0 - 9,999 µs/cm (micro siemens per centimetre), the TDS ranges from 0 - 9,999 ppm (parts per million), the temperature can be measured from 0,1 °C to 80,0 °C. The accuracy is given by ARAK as +/-2%.
The electrical conductivity is often used to determine the purity of osmosis water and therefore the performance of the filter materials. The less minerals are solved in the water, the lower the conductivity for electrical current is. Highly pure osmosis water can thus be mineralised extremely precisely and reproducibly and used for aquariums in accordance with the requirements. Furthermore, the necessity for a water change can be defined more accurately if measurements a taken regularly. A precise and at any time repeatable fertilisation of the osmosis water can also be realised optimally by determining the TDS.
