Description

Choco River Sand from the WIO Sands series by the manufacturer WIO is a very dark decorative sand with a variable grain size of 0,1 - 2 mm.
Thanks to its very dark, chocolate-like colour, this sand is ideal for nature aquariums. In combination with light green plants or other sand types, it allows for the creation of striking and complex contrasts.

Sand is generally a passive substrate that does not provide nutrients for aquarium plants. Therefore, when setting up an aquarium using sand as the sole substrate, the use of substrate fertiliser may be necessary. Nutrients can be added specifically to certain areas of the aquarium using fertiliser balls or tablets, which especially benefits heavy root-feeding plants such as Cryptocorynes.

Note

All WIO sand varieties are pre-washed. Nevertheless, the manufacturer recommends briefly rinsing the sand with cold water before use to remove abrasion caused during transport. This also helps prevent sand particles from floating up when filling the aquarium.

This product is intended exclusively for use in aquariums and terrariums. Do not use for other purposes.
Improper or negligent use may result in property damage, injury to persons or animals, and damage to aquatic or terrestrial ecosystems.
Fine dust particles may be present upon initial handling. Rinse thoroughly before use.
Some sand grains may have sharp edges. Handle with care.
The weight of the sand may damage sensitive aquariums if added improperly.
Do not ingest. Keep away from mouth and eyes. In case of accidental ingestion or eye contact, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Keep out of reach of children. Adult supervision is required when handled by children.

General information:

This product consists of natural materials. Variations in colour, shape, size and weight are natural.
When used as intended, the product is inert and should not significantly alter water parameters. Nevertheless, regular monitoring of water values is recommended.

Handling instructions:

Rinse thoroughly with clean water before use to remove residues or dust. Use appropriate rinsing methods for your aquarium/terrarium.
Distribute the sand carefully in the aquarium or terrarium to avoid scratching glass or acrylic surfaces.
Take special care with acrylic tanks, as they are more prone to scratching.
Do not pour forcefully or drop onto hard surfaces.
Do not throw or misuse the product. Never throw towards people, animals or fragile objects.
Store in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and excessive moisture.
Dispose of packaging and unused sand responsibly in accordance with local regulations. Do not release sand or rinse water into natural bodies of water or the environment outside of its intended use.
