Description

Choco River Sand from the WIOdecor-Sands series by the manufacturer WIO is a very dark decorative sand with variable grain size between 0,1 - 2 mm. Due to its very dark, chocolate-like colouring, this sand is ideal for natural aquariums. By combining it with light green plants or other types of sand, complex contrasts can be achieved.

Sand is usually a passive substrate that does not provide nutrients for the aquarium plants. Therefore, when setting up with sand as the sole substrate, the use of substrate fertiliser can be necessary. Fertiliser balls or tablets can be used to enrich specific parts of the aquarium with nutrients, so that especially plants with strong roots, such as cryptocorynes, can benefit from this.

Note

All WIOdecor sand types are pre-washed. Nevertheless, the manufacturer recommends briefly rinsing the sand with cold water before use to wash off any abrasion caused by transport. This also helps to prevent grains of sand from floating up when filling the aquarium.

Warning notes:

This product is intended solely for use in aquariums and terrariums. Do not use for any other purpose.
Improper or negligent use may result in property damage, injury to persons or animals, or harm to aquatic or terrestrial ecosystems.
Fine dust particles may be present during initial handling. Rinse thoroughly before use.
Some sand grains may have sharp edges. Handle with care.
The weight of the sand can damage fragile tanks if poured carelessly.
Do not ingest. Keep away from mouth and eyes. In case of accidental ingestion or contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Keep out of reach of children. Adult supervision is required when children are handling or near the product.

General notes:

This product is composed of natural materials. Variations in colour, shape, size, and weight are inherent.
When used as directed, this product is inert and should not significantly alter water parameters. Regular monitoring of water parameters is still recommended.

Handling notes:

Rinse thoroughly with potable water before use to remove dust or particles. Follow rinsing methods appropriate for your aquarium/terrarium setup.
Spread the sand gently within the aquarium or terrarium to avoid scratching glass or acrylic surfaces.
Exercise particular care with acrylic tanks, which are more susceptible to scratches.
Avoid forceful pouring or dropping onto hard surfaces.
Do not throw or misuse this product. Never throw it towards people, animals, or fragile objects.
Store in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity.
Dispose of packaging and unused sand responsibly in accordance with local regulations. Do not release sand or rinse water into natural watercourses or the environment outside the intended use.
