Description
Tillandsia bandensis × crocata is a special cross between two Tillandsia species that originally come from different climate zones in South America. Tillandsia bandensis brings robustness and a compact form to the cross, while Tillandsia crocata contributes its strikingly bright orange flowers. This hybrid thus combines the best characteristics of both parent plants and is simultaneously resistant to different environmental conditions as well as being a visual eye-catcher thanks to the splendour of its flowers. Caring for this tillandsia is uncomplicated, as it only needs occasional watering and air circulation to thrive. It is particularly suitable for dry to semi-moist terrarium conditions and prefers bright locations without direct sunlight.
Tillandsia bandensis × crocata creates a natural and colourful accent in a terrarium. The flowering period is particularly attractive, as the orange colour of the flowers contrasts strongly with the silver-green leaves, providing a beautiful contrast in the terrarium. Its small size makes it an ideal plant for smaller terrariums or as part of a larger arrangement.
