The coconut half shell is gladly used by shrimps, crayfish and other inhabitants of aquaria as a hideout or spawning place. They can retreat and feel secure in the half shell, as they do in caves and roots in their natural habitat. Moreover, the polished coconut half shells (numerously perforated or with an entrance) enrich every aquarium and serve as an inspiration for creative aquarists. They set natural emphases, f. i. surrounded by verdant water plants, and can be integrated into the existing or desired water landscape. Furthermore, an appealing green island can be formed on the half shells by attaching little plants, like anubias or bucephalandras.
This aquarium decoration consists of natural material and doesn't affect the water quality. Because it is a product of nature, the size, grain and brown shades can vary.
- Ideal, natural hiding place for shrimps, crayfish and other aquarium inhabitants
- Water neutral
- 2 variations: perforated or with an entrance
- Very decorative
