These versatile Catappa tubes are imported from Cambodia. They are made from the bark of the Sea Almond, also known as Catappa tree.
Thanks to the active substances of this tropical tree, i.a. tannins and saponins, the bark is among the nature products with the strongest antibiotic effects. Additionally, they provide an ideal shelter for shrimps, crayfishes and other aquarium inhabitants.

  • Natural aquarium decoration and hiding place for shrimps, crayfishes and other aquatic animals
  • Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect
  • Positive effect on the water quality

About 1-2 bark pieces per 20 l water. It is recommended to rinse the bark with hot water before use. In the aquarium the pieces will float for up to one day before they sink. They can be soaked in a separate vessel before, however the bark releases a greater amount of active substances if it is put directly into the tank.
The ingredients are released over a period of about 2 weeks. After that, the bark can remain in the aquarium.

Catappa bark pieces, dried, in a resealable zip bag for ideal stock-keeping.
100 % Sea almond bark (Terminalia catappa)
