These beech leaves come from the mixed forests of the northern Black Forest and the Schönbuch region in southwestern Germany, large woodlands with clean air. All leaves are harvested directly from the trees in the autumn and dried, not taken from the ground, thereby ensuring optimum quality. For freshwater shrimps, leaf litter is an important element of their natural habitats. In an aquarium, brown beech leaves contribute to optimal living conditions for the shrimps. As a decorative material, they give the aquarium biotope a natural, authentic appearance. Beech litter provides natural hiding places for the animals and also serves as food. The leaves are not eaten directly, but the shrimps rather feed on the microorganisms that develop on them, slowly decomposing the litter.
Beech leaves are the perfect choice not only for shrimp tanks but also for each other aquaria that are inspired by natural waters in woodlands.
For the Nano version, especially small leaves with a maximum length of 5 cm are hand-selected - ideal for Nano aquaria.
