Darwin Black Lava Stone by WIO is a unique and visually striking volcanic rock, ideal for use in aquariums and terrariums. This porous stone is rich in minerals and features a rough texture, making it perfect for creating natural and aesthetically appealing aquatic landscapes.

The dark coloration of the stone, composed of black and dark grey tones, creates a fascinating contrast with the lighter colours of aquatic plants, mosses and fauna in aquariums or terrariums. The porous surface of Darwin Black Lava Stone is ideal for the growth and development of beneficial bacteria and microorganisms. This makes it an excellent choice for creating a bioactive environment in aquariums, terrariums and vivariums, which is essential for maintaining healthy ecosystems.

The rough texture of Darwin Black Lava Stone also provides an ideal surface for epiphytic plants such as Anubias and mosses like Java moss, creating a natural-looking landscape that mimics the habitats of many aquatic and terrestrial organisms. In addition, due to its porous structure, it can quickly absorb and release water, making it an excellent choice for planted tanks, humid environments and habitats requiring high humidity.

This inert stone does not increase water hardness and is therefore ideal for sensitive aquatic animals and plants.

Note

These stone sets are untreated natural products. They can be used in both aquariums and terrariums. It is recommended to clean the stones before use and rinse them under running water. This helps remove fine dust particles that could otherwise cause cloudiness when setting up an aquarium. Small residues of moss or lichen cannot be completely ruled out.
The sets are pre-packed before reaching Aquasabi and cannot be opened or modified.

Small fragments may be swallowed by children or pets. Keep out of reach.

General information:

Calcareous stones may increase pH and KH levels in the water. Especially in soft water or sensitive aquariums, regularly check pH and KH values.
Rinse thoroughly before use and place slowly into the aquarium. Fine mechanical filtration may be necessary for 24 to 48 hours to remove dust and cloudiness.
Stones should be positioned directly on the tank base or on a foam mat before adding substrate. Avoid point loads. When stacking, use glue or aquarium putty for stability.
Do not throw stones. Place carefully to avoid damage or injury. Keep away from children and pets.
Store dry and in the original packaging. Avoid breakage during transport. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Handling instructions:

Preparation: Rinse stones thoroughly with clean water. Do not use cleaning agents.
Placement: Position on a stable surface. If necessary, wedge or secure with suitable adhesive. Then add substrate.
Filling the aquarium: Pour water slowly over a plate or plastic sheet to avoid disturbing the layout.
Monitoring: Regularly measure pH and KH values during the first weeks, especially when using calcareous stones or in aquariums with soft water.
