WIO Decor-Shells Shellbed from the manufacturer WIO is a natural shellbed substrate for aquariums that is excellent for creating a range of natural environments. For example, the coarsely crushed shells can be used to recreate the biotopes of the lake and river beds of the Great African Rift Valley. The lakes and ponds of the surreally beautiful Brazilian Bodoquena Highlands can also be realised or numerous estuaries from all over the world can be recreated. The substrate can be used alone or mixed with sand and other materials to create lively and natural ground grounds. The bright aesthetics of the shells and the strongly structured surface combine naturalness and contrast with decoration and plants. Biotope aquariums designed with particular attention to detail benefit especially from the natural look of Shellbed Substrate.
- Very natural optic
- Affects the water hardness
- 100 % natural material
- Very easy to process
- Available in 0,1 - 2 mm, as well as 0,1 - 5 mm grain size
All WIOdecor gravel types are pre-washed. Nevertheless, the manufacturer recommends briefly rinsing the gravel with cold water before use to wash off any abrasion caused by transport. This also prevents grains of shell from floating up when the aquarium is filled.
