Description

Heaven River from the WIOdecor-Sands series of the manufacturer WIO is a very decorative and yet exceptionally bright quartz sand with differnet natural colour variations as well as slightly variable grain sizes ranging from 0,1 - 4 mm. The sand appears very original and produces a strong contrast to dark coloures of, for example, soil, gravel or hardscpape. The presentation of a clear mountain stream is equally possible as an implied small trail.

A scape can be set up as a South American aquarium with the pure sand as substrate, which is, though, also suitable as a decorative sand for any other purpose.

Sand is usually a passive substrate that does not provide nutrients for the aquarium plants. Therefore, when setting up with sand as the sole substrate, the use of substrate fertiliser can be nessesary. Fertiliser balls or tablets can be used to enrich specific parts of the aquarium with nutrients, so that especially plants with strong roots, such as cryptocorynes, can benefit from this.
