Description
The Fluval AC High Performance Filters are hang-on-back external filters for freshwater and marine aquariums. They feature a well-engineered design with an especially efficient filtration concept. Unlike conventional hang-on filters, they incorporate a patented re-filtration system, which circulates water multiple times through the filter media. This increases contact time with the media, resulting in improved cleaning performance and more stable water parameters. The four-stage filtration consists of an intake sponge, a mechanical pre-filter made of Bio-Foam, a chemical stage with activated carbon, and a biological stage using BIOMAX ceramic rings. All essential filter media are included and can be replaced individually without disturbing the aquarium's biological cycle (CycleGuard principle).
The newly designed media basket provides fast access to all filter inserts and ensures efficient water flow through the structured layout. The revised impeller unit enables smoother operation and significantly reduces noise. An adjustable flow control allows the filter output to be adapted to aquarium needs. After a power outage, Fluval AC filters restart automatically, provided the aquarium water level is above the intake pipe. Thanks to a preformed mounting bracket and compact construction, installation is simple—even on narrow tank rims. The materials used are durable and long-lasting. Fluval AC Filters are an evolution of the established AquaClear series, offering significantly improved filtration performance, ease of maintenance, and media efficiency for consistently clear and stable aquarium water. They are suitable for both freshwater and marine tanks.
