Description

The Aquarium Münster Aquavital PO₄ Powder-Pillow Test enables the simple and reliable determination of phosphate levels in freshwater and marine aquariums. The reagent is supplied in hygienically packaged single-use portions, ensuring high measurement accuracy and a longer shelf life than conventional liquid drop tests. With a measuring range of 0,03 to 3,0 ppm PO₄, the test is suitable for monitoring both low phosphate concentrations in marine aquariums and higher levels in freshwater aquariums. The test is quick and convenient to use, requiring only a single reagent and a colour chart for evaluation.

Elevated phosphate levels can promote excessive algae growth in freshwater aquariums. In marine aquariums, excessive phosphate concentrations can impair the calcification process of stony corals and other calcifying organisms. Phosphate levels should ideally not exceed 0,4 mg/l in freshwater aquariums and 0,02 mg/l in marine aquariums.

One water parameter, one reagent

Application

Fill the test vial with 5 ml of aquarium water up to the marked line.
Add the complete contents of one Powder-Pillow reagent sachet to the water sample.
Gently swirl the test vial until the reagent has completely dissolved.
Place the test vial on the colour chart and determine the phosphate value by comparing the colour of the sample with the reference colour fields.

For the most accurate results, ensure that the test vial and all measuring equipment are clean before each use.

Cleaning

After use, all test equipment should be thoroughly cleaned to prevent future measurements from being affected.

Rinse the test vial thoroughly with clean water after use
Remove all reagent residues completely
Allow the test vial to dry before the next use

Detergents or cleaning agents should not be used inside the test vial, as residues may affect water analysis results.
