Description

Water quality is one of the most important factors for the health of ornamental fish and aquatic plants. The Aquarium Münster Aquavital NO₃ Powder-Pillow Test enables the nitrate content in freshwater to be determined quickly, easily and reliably. The reagent is supplied in hygienically packed individual portions, ensuring precise test results and a longer shelf life than conventional liquid drop tests.

As a general rule, the nitrate level should not exceed 25 ppm. If values above 100 ppm are measured, an immediate partial water change using nitrate-free water is recommended. Aquatic plants utilise nitrate as a nutrient and can help reduce elevated nitrate levels.

Application

Fill the test vial with 5 ml of aquarium water up to the marked line.
Add the complete contents of one Powder-Pillow reagent sachet to the water sample.
Gently swirl the test vial until the reagent has completely dissolved.
Place the test vial on the colour chart and determine the nitrate level by comparing the resulting colour with the reference colour fields.

For the most accurate results, the test vial and all testing equipment should be clean before each use.

Cleaning

After use, the test equipment should be cleaned thoroughly to ensure that future measurements are not affected.

Rinse the test vial with clean water after use
Remove all reagent residues completely
Allow the test vial to dry before the next use

Cleaning agents should not be used in the test vial, as residues may affect the water analysis.
