WIO PowerVol Base is an aquarium substrate and an essential building block for creating vibrant, healthy, natural habitats. It is made from 100% natural volcanic rock and is a technical substrate that is not only practical but also functional. PowerVol Base creates a base for soil or sand, making it easy to build up elevation.

WIO PowerVol Base is an ideal foundation for easily creating slopes in the aquarium. The volcanic rock is perfectly suited for stone and driftwood layouts and interlocks firmly. The porous volcanic rock also has the potential to be optimally penetrated by water, which promotes ideal oxygen supply as well as the colonization of beneficial bacteria. This improves water quality.

PowerVol Base is also rich in minerals and trace elements, ensuring that plants receive the nutrients they need to thrive.

Application

The PowerVol base substrate should be spread evenly in the aquarium to a depth of 2 - 4 cm.
If desired, a slope or additional volume can be created by adding more PowerVol.
The hardscape can now be safely arranged on the PowerVol, which forms a stable foundation. Once the hardscape layout is complete, it is recommended to use a substrate as a topping, for example from the Eonian Series or the Artist Series. Sand or soil can also be used.
The water should be poured carefully onto a hard surface to avoid disturbing the arranged substrate. During the initial setup phase, the aquarium water may become cloudy. The cloudiness should disappear within a few hours after the filter is switched on.

Warnings:

Dust may cause temporary mechanical irritation to the eyes and skin. Avoid contact and rinse with water if necessary.
Inhalation of dust may cause irritation to the respiratory tract. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Spilled material may create a slipping hazard. Remove immediately.
The product is intended exclusively as a base substrate. If left uncovered, it may pose an injury risk to animals and increase the risk of detritus accumulation.
Children or pets may accidentally swallow the product. Keep out of reach.

General information:

Using it uncovered as a top layer may trap detritus, burden bottom-dwelling animals, or cause instability.
Unwashed dust may cause initial cloudiness in the water.
Cleaning with soap or chemical agents may leave residues that are harmful to animals.
Deeper uncompacted layers may slip without a cover layer or terracing.
Store dry and sealed to minimize dust and moisture absorption. Keep away from food and children. Transport in the original packaging.

Handling instructions:

Do not rinse the product in order to preserve its properties.
Soak before placement to remove trapped air and prevent floating.
For stable structures on slopes, use terraces, nets, or stone borders. Avoid very steep angles unless support is provided.
Fully cover with a layer of plant substrate or sand/gravel at least 2 to 4 cm thick. Do not leave any gaps.
Ensure adequate filtration and water flow. Expect slight cloudiness at the beginning, which will clear through filtration.
Only siphon the top layer carefully. The base layer should not be exposed during cleaning.
