Description

The Root Mix from Wio is a versatile hardscape set, with a palette of roots in natural colours and shapes. Amber Root contributes warm colours and the interesting contours of Twisted Roots add naturalness to the set. Root Mix is ideal for hobbyists who want a touch of realism or for professionals who want to create or expand a multi-faceted layout. Each root type is available in different sizes so that attractive visual effects can be designed.

Application

Preparation:
The roots should be soaked in water for 24 hours before use to restore their flexibility. They should then be rinsed with water to remove any remaining dust or dirt.

Insert:
To secure the roots initially, they can be weighted down with stones. This is necessary until the roots have soaked up water and sink naturally.

Tannins:
The roots can release tannins that enrich the water with a cognac-like hue. This is not harmful, but can be controlled by frequent water changes or pre-treatment of the roots.

Care:
If a white fungus appears during the initial set-up, it can be removed with a vacuum or mechanically. It usually disappears within a month.
