Woodbed Biotope Roots from the WIOdecor BiotopeBeds series by WIO is an ideal blend of small branches, roots, and bark that naturally accumulate on the forest floor or in riverbeds.
The selected wood pieces have the unique property that, once fully soaked with water, they remain at the bottom of the aquarium and do not decompose over the years. Woodbed can be used in aquariums, paludariums, and terrariums and creates an ideal and realistic biotope impression. It offers major benefits for wildlife, as it provides natural acids (humic substances), organic nutrients, and hiding places. Woodbed opens up new possibilities for biotope designers, aquascapers, rainforest artists, or vivarium enthusiasts, as it adds extra detail, complexity, and Wabi-Sabi effects to your designs.

In addition, Woodbed can be mixed with Mulchbed Biotope for even greater complexity and realism.

Application

Rinse the entire contents of the bag under running water
Fill the bag or a bucket with warm water and leave the mixture to soak for 24 hours
Then rinse carefully to remove any remaining dust
The wood pieces will become waterlogged and can be easily distributed on the bottom of the aquarium or used as a forest floor in emersed aquariums

Product safety

Caution: risk of swallowing

Warnings:

Dust may cause irritation to the eyes or skin. Avoid contact and rinse with water if necessary.
Inhalation of dust may irritate the respiratory tract. Ensure adequate ventilation during handling.
Mechanical injuries from splinters or sharp edges are possible. Handle with care.
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Risk of swallowing or injury if handled improperly.
Uncured wood may cause sudden changes in water parameters as well as floating particles.
Moist storage without ventilation may encourage mold growth.

General information:

The product may release tannins and humic substances that can lower the pH value. Monitor water parameters accordingly.
Biofilm formation is common at the beginning and is generally harmless. Remove it if necessary.
Water discoloration and an amber tint are typical characteristics of natural-style aquariums.
Natural variations in shape and surface are normal due to the material.

Handling instructions:

Rinse thoroughly before use to remove loose particles.
To cure, boil for about 20 minutes or soak in warm water for 24 to 72 hours, changing the water daily.
Add slowly to the aquarium, especially in systems with low KH or GH, to avoid pH crashes.
Position carefully. Keep sharp edges away from animal pathways.
Wear gloves if necessary to avoid splinters. Wash hands after handling.
Use only dry in terrariums or paludariums. Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent mold growth.
If buoyant, wedge under existing decoration. Replace or trim pieces if they soften naturally over time.
Carry out partial water changes if the water darkens more than desired. Check pH, KH, and GH regularly.
