Description
This plant is mostly labeled Vallisneria spiralis 'Tiger', 'Striped' or 'Marmor' (Marble). However, a DNA analysis (Les & al., 2008) has revealed that the Tiger Vallisneria is a variant of Vallisneria nana. This Australian species is quite variable and includes not only the well-known very narrow-leaved, but also quite large plants with similarly broad leaves as Vallisneria spiralis.
The Tiger Vallisneria is an excellent plant for beginners, growing in virtually all light and water conditions. The name is due to its leaves with a pattern of dark brown, short stripes. The leaves are about 30-60 cm long and 1-2 cm wide, light to middle green, also with red-brown tones under strong lighting. The Tiger Vallisneria forms runners easily, and is thus easy to propagate.
Please be aware that the submerse form of this plant could contain snails and other invertebrates.

Leider war ein Großteil der Blätter angeknickt und sind während der ersten Tage abgestorben. Rest wird aber ausreichen um mit der Zeit die Aquarienecke auszufüllen.
