Description

UNS Controsand Vesuvius is a natural aquarium gravel for freshwater aquariums with a medium grain size, specially developed for the creation of modern aquascapes. The dark, almost black gravel creates particularly strong contrasts in the aquarium and is ideal for structured substrate zones, pathways or as a decorative foreground. Thanks to its consistent grain size, the gravel forms stable layouts and clearly defined substrate structures.

Controsand Vesuvius is safe for fish and invertebrates and can be used both in planted aquariums and shrimp tanks. Especially when combined with lighter stones or driftwood, it creates a striking yet natural contrast that highlights hardscape and plants effectively.

The gravel is ideal as a decorative substrate or as a top layer over nutrient-rich base substrates. This allows structured layouts with different substrate zones to be created. For best results, it is recommended to briefly rinse the gravel before use.

Application

Before use, the gravel should be briefly rinsed with water to remove fine transport particles. Afterwards, the gravel can be placed directly into the aquarium and shaped as desired.
