Description
Dieses beblätterte Lebermoos ist auch als Jungermannia tetragona bekannt und kam zuerst unter dem irrtümlichen Namen "Blepharostoma trichophyllum" in den Handel. Es ist im tropischen Asien an feuchten bis nassen Standorten weit verbreitet. Nach seinen rundlichen, transparenten, dicht und regelmäßig am Stängel aufgereihten Blättchen wird es "Perlenmoos" genannt. Man muss aber beachten, dass noch mindestens zwei weitere Aquarienmoose als "Perlenmoos" oder "Perlmoos" im Handel sind.
Solenostoma tetragonum wächst im Aquarium langsam. Es bildet attraktive Polster aus schräg aufrecht wachsenden Trieben. Mittlere Lichtstärke, CO2-Düngung und regelmäßige Nährstoffversorgung über die Wassersäule sind bei diesem relativ anspruchsvollen Moos zu empfehlen. Man bindet es auf Materialien wie Holz oder Steinen auf oder befestigt es auf Moos-Pads. Dieses Lebermoos heftet sich nur wenig auf der Unterlage fest. Besonders In vitro-Material braucht einige Zeit, um sich im Aquarium einzugewöhnen und mit dem Wachstum zu beginnen. Wir empfehlen, es nur in bereits biologisch eingefahrene, gut laufende Aquarien zu setzen.
