Description

Seachem Catappa Leaves are made from natural Indian almond leaves (Terminalia catappa) and are ideal for creating a more natural environment in freshwater aquariums. Over time, the leaves gradually release valuable tannins and organic compounds into the water, producing a subtle amber tint and helping to recreate conditions found in many natural habitats of tropical fish and invertebrates.

As the leaves naturally decompose, a biofilm of microorganisms develops on their surface. This serves as a natural food source for shrimp, snails and fry, while also contributing to the biological diversity of the aquarium.

Application

Add 1 to 2 leaves per 20 litres of aquarium water, depending on the desired effect. The leaves can be placed directly on the water surface and will naturally sink after a short time. Replace the leaves after approximately one month or once they have completely decomposed.
