Description

Rotala rotundifolia 'Pink' is also called R. rotundifolia "Rosa". Contrary to what the name suggests, the plant is predominantly a light, fresh shade of green. The undersides of the leaves are light pink in bright light. The shoots grow upright to ascending, unlike the often horizontally growing Rotala rotundifolia 'Green'. The underwater leaves are somewhat broader than those of 'Green'.

Leaf structure of the submerged leaves

This plant is just as easy to care for and fast-growing as other forms of the Dwarf Rotala. Good lighting and occasional pruning will encourage a bushier appearance.

Rotala rotundifolia 'Pink' has the bright green of the well-known R. rotundifolia 'Green', but does not have the horizontal to overhanging, almost creeping habit. Instead, it forms upright, lush bushes that can grow over 40 cm high. These look best in the background to middle ground of aquariums that are not too small.
