Description
Rotala rotundifolia "Myanmar" is an interesting form of the Dwarf Rotala that was introduced from Myanmar not long ago. It is characterised by a rather upright, loose, bushy growth habit and relatively broad submerged leaves, which are often arranged in whorls of three or four. Depending on light intensity and nutrient supply, it develops attractive shades ranging from fresh green to warm orange and pink tones, adding lively accents to the aquascape.
With its fast growth, Rotala rotundifolia "Myanmar" is excellent for creating dense plant groups in the midground or background. Regular trimming encourages strong branching and results in compact, voluminous plant bushes. The cut shoot tips can easily be replanted and root quickly, making it simple to establish larger groups.
The plant prefers medium to strong lighting and shows its most intense colours with good nutrient availability and additional CO2 supplementation. Rotala rotundifolia "Myanmar" is particularly well suited as a bush or larger grouping in the midground to background. Due to its adaptability, it is suitable for both ambitious beginners and experienced aquascapers.
