Description
This Philodendron cultivar shows dark green to brown-red tones and a light pink spotting. Initially Philodendron 'Pink Princess' grows upright, then its shoots start to climb if they get the chance, otherwise they droop.
Philodendron 'Pink Princess' grows well in normal, loose potting soil that is kept moderately moist and should neither dry out nor become waterlogged. Hydroponics is also possible. When well established, the plant can be given a houseplant fertiliser. Like many climbing arum plants, this philodendron variety is a partial shade plant that is best placed in bright, but not full sun. Higher humidity of over 60 % is favourable, but not a must. Temperatures should be at least 20 °C and should not fall below 15 °C for a long time. Attach or tie the shoots where they are to climb. In a dry environment, however, the roots hardly attach themselves to the rootstock. Propagation is done by head cuttings and partial cuttings.
Philodendron 'Pink Princess', with its contrast of dark colours and light pink spotting, is a striking climber for tropical terrariums, both for distinct rainforest terrariums and drier terrarium types. It is also an effective accent on the terrarium floor as a young plant.
