The leaves of this rather unknown Java fern variant are comparable to those of M. pteropus 'Narrow' in form and size, however, they have an interesting coloration. The plant has narrow lanceolate leaves around 15-25 cm in length and 18-23 mm in width. The tips and the central vein of the young leaves are brown-orange or brownish-red, similar to the larger much more wide-leaved M. pteropus 'Red' from southern Thailand. Older leaves are of a medium to light green.
Please be aware that the submerse form of this plant could contain snails and other invertebrates.

In my case a 3cm long rhizom and another 1 cm long one. The 12 to 15 medium to very small leaves (the 2 biggest were 10 cm long and were damaged; the rest vary from 5-7 cm to 2-3 cm) were not firm, their color was sad and most of them suffer from holes, brown spots, broken tips and already melting parts. I had to cut a few of them directly out of the bag.
Also I do not see anywhere the orange/brown tips, neither on the young/small leaves (but as said before, the complete plant looks like more brownish than green). Because of the poor condition, I've decided not to include it directly into my layout. It has been attached to a stone and placed in a corner of the aquarium with medium light, soft current and low concurrence. Let see what happens now, but I'm definitively disappointed by the quantity and quality received for the price paid.
Aquasabi shipping service was fast and efficient as ususally. Nothing to complain about this.
EDIT AFTER HAVING CONTACTED AQUASABI: I must admit that i probably overreacted yesterday when discovering the slightly damaged tiny bunchs of this Java fern.
After having discussed with the Aquasabi team and having both exposed our views, they admitted some points and rejected some others BUT proved to have an excellent quality customer service by proposing a very satifsfying and appreciated solution. This is finally more important than the size of a few euros plant.
The plant is now in standby in a recovery zone of my aquarium. If it grows well and finally looks like the advertised one, I will for sure come back and complete this review.

The delicate orange tips give much more dimension to a pretty "common" fern.
Very clean and healthy leaves. I'm loving it more and more each time I look at it. These will match and blend in with the Ohko stones' red/orange color in my aquascape.
Very happy I found this here!
I bought two in vitro, the quality was very bad in both containers, very different from the website photo. (read more)
I bought two in vitro, the quality was very bad in both containers, very different from the website photo. Many burnt leaves and really microscopic plants, difficult to divide the portions to get some plants, after a few days they crumble and spread throughout the aquarium, even tying them with thread. Given the slowness of the microsorum to grow it will take years before you see adult plants, always assuming they do not die first, really disappointed.
