Description

The Macherey-Nagel Visocolor ECO Naitrate Water Test is a colourimetric water test for determining the nitrate content of a water sample. Nitrate is one of the most important water plant nutrients and should therefore always be present in sufficient quantities in the water.

Nitrate is reduced to nitrite with an inorganic reducing agent. An aromatic amine is diazotised with the nitrite, which is then coupled to form an azo dye.
