Description
The JBL DigiScan Tube digital aquarium thermometer offers an innovative solution for precise monitoring of the water temperature in aquariums. The device is characterised by its ease of use thanks to its simple installation, which simply involves inserting a battery and attaching the thermometer to the tube with a spring clip. The sensitive temperature sensor on the back of the thermometer measures the temperature of the aquarium water indirectly via the hose temperature, which is representative of the water temperature in the aquarium. The thermometer is compatible with all hose types and diameters from 12 to 26 mm, including silicone hoses. A preset alarm function warns of water temperatures below 18 °C and above 28 °C to ensure the well-being of the aquarium inhabitants. The scope of delivery includes a digital aquarium tube thermometer and an LR 1130 battery.
The water temperature plays a decisive role in the thriving of animals and plants in the aquarium. Tropical ornamental fish prefer temperatures between 24 and 26 °C, while certain species such as the discus cichlid find higher temperatures of 27 to 29 °C ideal. In contrast, axolotl and many freshwater shrimps prefer cooler conditions. Efficient temperature control can be achieved by using control heaters to raise the temperature or cooling devices to lower it.
