Description
Eriocaulon cinereum has a wide distribution in the warm areas of Asia, Africa and Australia where it occurs in wet, temporarily flooded places. This quite small Eriocaulon develops a compact, hedgehog-like rosette with narrow, rigid leaves. Under water it has a silvery green hue. Not rarely it develops its hat pin-like inflorescences. The plant that we have sold as Eriocaulon sp. has turned out as identical with Eriocaulon cinereum.
We recommend strong lighting, rather soft water, a type of Aquasoil as substrate and good CO2 supply (about 20-30 mg/L).
With its special, exotic appearance, Eriocaulon cinereum works best as an accent plant in the foreground to midground, in an open place.
Please be aware that the bunch/potted variation of this plant could contain snails and other invertebrates.

A lot of small plants in grow pot, all in good condition. Doing well so far, adjusted to aquarium quickly.
Filled my entire foreground with this plant and still there’s plenty left, I regrettably had to throw some of them. The plantlets have already started rooting and all are healthy. (read more)
