Description

Echinodorus 'Tanzende Feuerfeder' is an impressive cultivated variety from the sword plant genus, introduced in 2002 by Tomas Kaliebe. It received its distinctive name in honour of the “Tanzende Feuerfeder” dance group of the fire brigade in Löhme. This large rosette plant is characterised by long, narrow-elliptical leaves, whose olive-green base colour is traversed by an irregular red flame-like pattern.

This robust and fast-growing sword plant is also suitable for beginners and develops reliably even under moderate lighting conditions. Its attractive red colouring and distinctive leaf pattern are retained even in moderate light, but can become even more pronounced under stronger lighting and with a good nutrient supply. A nutrient-rich substrate and regular fertilisation promote vigorous growth. Due to its size, a spacious aquarium with sufficient room for development is recommended.

With a growth height of up to 70 cm, Echinodorus 'Tanzende Feuerfeder' is particularly well suited as an imposing solitary plant for the midground to background of larger aquariums. Its elegant leaf shape and striking red-flamed pattern create effective focal points in both natural planted aquascapes and classic community tanks. Under favourable conditions, the plant produces flower spikes on which daughter plants can develop, making propagation straightforward.
