Description
The EHEIM waterrefill is an automatic refill system which keeps the water level of an aquarium tank at a constant and healthy level in a simple and safe manner. Water evaporation is a constant issue in open aquariums and varies in intensity depending on location and seasonal conditions. This can lead to problems in the long term, e.g. if the concentration of pollutants increases due to a receding water level, or in the case of marine water tanks, the salinity increases. EHEIM waterrefill can be a handy option in cases of being away (vacation), or if the daily effort has increased too much due to having a larger number of aquarium tanks to take care of.
The EHEIM waterrefill automatically tops up the water level from a water reservoir using a pump. A capacitive sensor, which is simply attached to the outside of the aquarium pane, permanently monitors the water level via an electic field and starts the pump if necessary. For marine water aquariums, the sensor can also be attached to the filter tank. The sensor works with glass thicknesses of up to 10 mm. A smart and adaptive controller monitors the refilling, memorizes filling times and quantities and adapts the top-up to the size of the aquarium and possible changes (e.g. seasons). If there are significant irregularities, the process is stopped automatically, ruling out risks of overflowing. The energy-efficient, low-voltage pump (12V) is completely maintenance-free when operated with ultrapure water (osmosis water).

Worth the money by far.
Inductive sensor instead of optic.
No problem with snails or algae, because the sensor is out of the tank.
