Within an aquarium that is supplied with many plants, unattractive detritus can occur on the substrate or the groundcover plants due to dead plant parts, feces of the animals and other organic residues. This is especially annoying in aquascapes, where a pristine look is often desired, but also in other aquariums the detritus can lead to problems. In combination with feed residues and other organic waste inside the aquarium, a nutrient surplus and, thus, problems with accompanying fauna or algae are possible. To prevent this effect from happening, a Gravel Cleaner can be a practical tool.
In aquariums with many stones, plants and driftwood, it is hard to reach the detritus in the different places. The Gravel Cleaner by Dennerle provides remedy for this problem. By moving the Gravel Cleaner up and down start the suction can be easily started. The dirt can be removed at places that are hard to reach. Even the water change is easier.
