In aquascaping, it is important to find an optically pleasing solution for connecting an external filter to the aquarium tank so the impression of the aquascape is not infringed by unattractive technical equipment. Lily Pipes have the great advantage of blending into an aquarium, thus becoming almost invisible, and in addition they bring a good movement to the water surface. The residue film on the water surface can be kept in check by a Lily Pipe. It creates a slight draft of water that sucks particles from the water surface and leads them to lower water layers. When you lift the Lily Pipe up overnight it will create more water surface movement, and the stronger turbulence will enrich the water with additional oxygen. Lily Pipes are made of glass. Various forms are available.
Besides glassware products like e.g. Lily Pipes there are also special filter intakes and outlets made of stainless steel. Stainless steel cannot be integrated into an aquascape like glassware. On the contrary, stainless steel filter equipment puts the focus on the particular beauty of aquarium equipment. Moreover, stainless steel filterware is almost indestructible and thus helps keep frustration levels in aquascaping down. Unlike Lily Pipes, stainless steel filter outlets do not emit a soft and wide current but have been designed to create a more aimed water flow, which helps in directing the filter stream in a more targeted manner in the tank.
