This form of Pogostemon stellatus is labeled by Dutch water plant nurseries as Eusteralis stellata "Grof" oder "Strong". Its leaves are somewhat wider than those of the customary P. stellatus but still narrower than P. stellatus "Broad Leaf". The submerged leaves are arranged in whorls and green to purplish coloured. The plant is mostly delivered in its terrestrial form (emersed form) and develops its colourful submerged foliage after planting into the aquarium.
Pogostemon stellatus needs rather strong lighting, CO2 addition and good macro- and micronutrient supply. Its optimum temperatures lie between ca. 24-28 °C. The plant prefers soft to medium hard water.
Pogostemon stellatus "Strong" is a beautiful, large stem plant from tropical Asia that looks best as a group or larger stand in the background or midground of aquariums.
