Description
This plant was introduced as a novelty in Europe. Its identification as Limnophila australis is not yet verified, therefore we write the name provisionally with cf. Limnophila australis is a species from Australia with finely dissected, light green leaves. Comparable with similar Limnophila species, it develops long, upright submerged stems as well as underground runners.
We recommend good lighting, complete macro- and micronutrient supply via the water column and CO2 addition. Higher temperatures of above 27 °C are recommended for the species Limnophila australis, but we assume that the plant can also be grown with lower temperatures. It is propagated by cuttings and runners.
Limnophila cf. australis is a still little known but decorative, fine-leaved aquarium plant. It looks best as a larger stand in the midground to background.
Please be aware that the bunch/potted variation of this plant could contain snails and other invertebrates.
