Neo Media Premium SOFT by AQUARIO is a high quality filter medium for biological filtration in aquariums. Conventional filter balls have an average surface area of approx. 500 m²/l and filter rings even only 270 m²/l. The innovative texture, which is characterised by the fractional cylindric shape, offers a highly structured surface with an exceptional 3.200 m²/l and pores of varying sizes between 1.000 µm ~ 2 µm. The larger pores of up to 1.000 µm allow a very good water flow through the filter medium into the deepest interior. Therefore, it offers nitrifying bacteria (size 1 ~ 1,5 µm) an optimum supply of oxygen in addition to the particularly large colonisation surface. These bacteria are very important for water quality, as they effectively remove ammonium and nitrite. The various pore sizes allow the possibility for a considerable number of other bacteria and other microbes to coexist safely.
In the development of Neo Media Premium, AQUARIO pays special attention to the creation of a novel, continuous pore structure. Part of the 5-step manufacturing process they created themselves is processing at high temperatures, which ensures good strength. In addition, the pores are kept at this temperature level for a very long time to standardise their quality. These measures guarantee constant performance to ensure optimal use when properly applied.
This filter medium is slightly acidic and, thus, lowers the pH-value. Therfore, it creates great conditions for South American fish, shrimp and plants.
Neo Media Premium SOFT is delivered with separately packed bacteria that are activated as soon as they get in contact with water and, then, immediately start transforming ammonium and nitrite.
AQUARIO offers Neo Media Premium in three different types, so that the water hardness can be influenced in the best possible way even during filtration. In addition to the Media Premium SOFT, there is also the Media Premium in HARD, for the need for alkaline water values and Media Premium PURE, which has no effect on the water value.
- Excellent filter medium for aquaria with South American fish, shrimps and plants
- Very large pore surface of 3.200 m²/l
- Exceptional structure with different pore sizes from 1.000 µm ~ 2 µm
- Provides perfect living conditions for a variety of bacteria and other microbes
- Lowers the pH value
- Includes important bacteria
Briefly rinse the media before inserting it in the filter as well as every three months while in use. The bacteria themselves are added without treatment directly to the washed medium before it is placed in the filter. The medium should be replaced after about 2 years of use. Keep out of the reach of children.
The Neo Media Premium SOFT has its own slight acidity level and is perfect for aquatic plants and creatures that live in a low pH habitat
The average water value can be lowered if Neo Media Premium SOFT is used continuously. Here, the pH value reduction of 10 litres is shown after 20 days. The test may vary slightly depending on the GH, KH of the water.
The manufacturer AQUARIO is specialised in the field of high-quality acrylic CO2 diffusors, highly efficient biological CO2 systems as well as substrates and filter materials for aquaristics. Founded in 2010, the Korean company follows the guiding principle that every private person should be able to produce a close-to-nature aquascape with the help of their products. Therefore, Aquario offers very chic and discreet aquarium accessories that do not interfere with the aquarium layout. Moreover, they keep optimising their product range with brand new innovations. Just installed about 0.7 lt of this material in an Oase Thermofilter 200 as part of my 20gal tank setup. The next day the water was cloudy with a yellowish tint that matches the color of the material. It seems as the current generated by the filter progressively rubs off the chalky material turning into a fine dust that cannot seem to get collected even by the fine wool material in the filter.
Total waste of money...
